Nyxel / Ilmora / Privacy policy
Privacy policy
Ilmora is an app for preparing for Pakistan's public service commission exams, made by Nyxel. This policy says what Ilmora keeps, what leaves your phone and why, who else handles it for us, how long it is kept, and how you can delete it. If anything here is unclear, write to nyxel.help@gmail.com.
On your phone
Your answers, bookmarks and progress, your settings, the exam you chose, and the name and number you give are kept in the app on your phone, so it opens and drills without a connection. Ilmora is left out of the backup Android makes to your Google account. Uninstalling Ilmora deletes everything it kept on the phone.
What reaches our server
- Your account. Questions come from Ilmora's server, which keeps an account for you: a guest account made for your phone, or your Google account once you sign in. Signing in with Google gives us your name, email address and profile picture, and nothing else from your Google account.
- Your practice. The questions the server gave you, each answer, the mock papers you sat with their marks, and once you sign in, your bookmarks, so your progress comes back on a new phone.
- Backups. Signed in, the app backs up what it keeps on the phone about once a day, including the name and any number you gave, so a new phone can bring everything back.
- Question reports. Reporting a question sends the question and your note. Nothing about you goes with it.
- Ilmora Plus. Google Play takes the payment; we never see your card. Our server keeps the purchase's token, plan, state and end date against your account, so Plus follows the account.
- Rewarded videos. When you choose to watch a video for an extra drill or mock paper, Google AdMob tells our server you finished it; we keep its transaction number for a week so one video is never counted twice.
- Server logs. Our server records requests, including the account making them and your IP address.
Ads
The free plan shows ads from Google AdMob and the ad networks it works with. They may use your device's advertising ID and similar data to show and measure ads, as Google's privacy policy describes. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google's consent form asks you first, and Privacy choices in Settings changes your answer. Your phone's settings also let you reset or delete the advertising ID. Ilmora Plus shows no ads.
Crash reports and usage
When the app crashes, a report of what went wrong goes to Google's Firebase Crashlytics so it can be fixed. Firebase Analytics counts a few moments, such as finishing setup, a drill or a paper, opening a tab or seeing the Plus offer, with the exam's codes and figures like how many questions were answered, against a random number for your install (none in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland). It also counts what it counts in every app: first opens, sessions and time in the app, screens viewed, app and Android updates, notifications and ads shown. None of it carries your name, number, email or answers, and none of it uses your advertising ID.
Notifications
Exam news can arrive through Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging. Your phone listens for the news for your commission and post; our server never learns which phone is yours.
Location and contacts
Ilmora never asks for your location or your contacts. Google AdMob and Firebase may work out a rough location, such as your city, from your connection's address.
Why we use it
- To run the app: your account, questions, papers, progress and backups.
- To keep it fair: checking purchases and rewarded videos, and stopping abuse.
- To fix problems: crash reports and logs.
- To pay for it: ads on the free plan, and Ilmora Plus.
We don't sell your data.
Who else handles it
These companies process data for us, only to provide their service:
| Supabase | Our server, database and backups |
|---|---|
| Google (Firebase) | Crash reports, usage counts and notifications |
| Google AdMob | Ads on the free plan, and rewarded videos you choose to watch |
| Google Play | Payments for Ilmora Plus, and sign-in with Google |
We may also disclose data when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
| Your account and practice | Until you delete the account |
|---|---|
| A guest account nobody uses | Deleted after 90 days, with everything in it |
| Rewarded-video transaction numbers | 7 days |
| Crash reports | 90 days |
Deleting your data
Delete your account in the app under Settings › Profile › Delete account, or see how to ask without the app. Deleting removes your account and everything our server keeps for it; a Plus subscription is not cancelled by it, so cancel that in Google Play.
Children
Ilmora is meant for people preparing for public service exams, aged 16 and over. It is not directed at children.
Changes
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes too, and anything that matters is said in the app.
